Saint Francis is perhaps most famously associated with animals. Numerous stories and legends describe his interactions with birds, wolves, and other creatures.
To Francis, animals were not just part of the environment but living reflections of God's creativity and love. He preached to birds, blessed animals, and encouraged kindness toward all living beings.
His spirituality reminds us that every creature has inherent value and deserves respect.
In honor of Saint Francis Day there will be a
Blessing of the Pets ceremony at St Mary's Church
on Saturday October 3rd.
Donations of Dog and Cat food along with supplies donations will benefit Pet Refuge.
