BUDDY CATS

You may be wondering just what a "buddy" cat is?  Pet Refuge has many felines in our system who are somewhat shy around humans but . . . comfortable with other cats and/or dogs.

So, have you ever thought about getting your current lonely cat a "buddy" of her very own?  Or how about a pal for your "non-aggressive," bored canine? A "buddy" cat may be the solution to your pet's loneliness problem -- once and for all!

And, our Buddy Cats are being offered at exactly HALF the cost of our everyday adoption fee of $100.00.

So, for just $50.00, you can give a shy, hard-to-place, "buddy" cat a loving home as well as providing a furry friend for your own furry friend! And, who knows, after a few days with a patient, understanding new owner, these shy kitties may become YOUR best "buddy" too!

GALAXY
DOB May 2007
Galaxy is a pretty, petite dilute tortie girl.  She enjoys the company of other cats, and once she gets to know you she enjoys being petted and loved-on.  Galaxy would very much like a calm household to live in and another gentle cat to keep her company.  CE
Morgan

KENNY

(DOB April 2005)

Kenny was found as an adult stray,  and he is very shy, which is probably the result of a not so easy life.   He does  get along fine with the other cats,  and will take some attention from humans, but not too much.  He will need a very patient owner, who understands all his quirks. Kenny is available as a buddy cat.

Years at Pet Refuge

FLETCHER

DOB 2005

Fletcher is a handsome, male brown tabby.  Although shy with people, he gets along with other cats great.

LEXIE

Lexie is a beautiful, black and white DLH.  Born 3/05, Lexie came to Pet Refuge with her sister as a stray.  Even though she is a bit shy, she loves to be petted once she decides to trust you.  As you can see in her picture, she likes to snuggle in tight little spaces.  Lexie would do best in a calm household.  She likes to play with other cats, but would probably not like dogs. (Carole)

COWBOY

Although this large brown tabby male seems to be terrified of being photographed, he's really just known as a buddy cat.  Cowboy was born in August 2004 and he does very well being around other cats (hence the "buddy" cat status).  He does, unfortunately, take a long time to warm up to humans but, as his foster mom says, "He will become friendly with some patience and TLC!"  (Sandi)

BAILEY

(DOB 2002)

Bailey is a neutered handsome classic dark swirled brown tabby male with the most piercing green eyes. Bailey has been in his foster home from kittenhood (he was found with his litter mates in a bean field). He's a super sweet boy but is on the shy side and is considered a buddy cat. He does well with one other friendly male cat that he can play with and then chill out and cuddle with.  He does well around mellow non- cat chasing dogs (basically a couch potato or an older dog) He needs a quiet home. FRISCO

DOB February 2004

Frisco is a beautiful long hair all black male. Frisco is considered a buddy cat because he prefers to be with other cats or dogs and does not like to be around people.  He is very playful and will snuggle with other cats.  If you lived alone with no other cats he could possibly bond with you instead of depending on other cats for companionship because he does enjoy being brushed and he absolutely loves his daily cat treats.  (Ang)

ERIC

An orange tabby and white feline, Eric used to fit the classic profile of the "scaredy" cat but has greatly improved since coming to the shelter.  This handsome male lives in our cage-free cat room and does well around other cats.  Eric has made tremendous progress recently. He still has his shy moments, but he has started coming up to strangers at adoption events to get petted. He has been doing very well and recently moved into a foster home! (Angela)

BENSON

SENIOR CAT

A domestic shorthair black male, Benson is a pretty feline but is extremely shy.  Although he depends on the kindness of humans to feed and care for him, he is still "cautious" of them and would do best in a calm, quiet household. (Ang)
